And the winner is…

Students, colleagues, friends, and relatives have now spoken. Thanks to everyone who voted! All of the images (see previous post) garnered enough votes to make the race a tight one. With just over 60% of the votes, the twinned chick embryo came out on top. Here’s another image of the same specimen, just a bit smaller and contrast enhanced. ImageCongratulations to Tally Levitz and Molly Spilka who cultured the chick embryo in vitro and captured this award winning image on the Cerveny Lab’s Olympus SZX9 equipped with a transmitted light base (diagnostic instruments).
